Important limitation
Emoji and CJK text require an embedded font containing those glyphs; very low opacity may be hard to see in print. A watermark discourages casual reuse but is not secure redaction or DRM.

Which image formats work?
Use PNG for transparency or JPEG for smaller photographic marks.
Can a watermark hide confidential information?
